Modeled in Blender, Rendered in Unity.

I saw this mech design a while back, and I just absolutely loved its design. So I had to model it!

This is really cool to see man, very, very cool. You did a damn phenomenal job for a blind model too (lack of orthos and other visual information beyond the existing illustration to go on). Impressive work considering how complex the structures of the original design are. Only suggestion I will make is in the description, after my DA icon add :icongenocidalpenguin:'s as well. It was Karl's original design that is the foundation for the new design, ultimately, we both created. The Harma Bhatra was a collaboration through and through :) I have to show this to Karl, I'm sure he'll love it as well :)

Thank you for making this, it's always humbling and appreciated seeing other creators showing such interest in the TKP work :)

Though I admit I am curious.
Where is this universe of yours heading?

Is it just personal fun, or do you intend to make a comic or game or something ? =)

The project was initially (and ultimately still is) a TV series pitch proposal. I have been involved in pitch-work before but the trends, both economically and creatively, are not very conducive to ambitious and bold works (not impossible just far more difficult and precarious, see cancellations of Tron animated and Motor City for example), so we're just having fun exploring the material for now. That said it's still a serious endeavor and there are some things we're cooking, behind the scenes, on our own to keep expanding and growing awareness of the work.

So, ultimately, the intention was an animated series but other media has never been out of the question; games, comics, etc. We plan to keep working on, regardless of where it goes, it's too much fun not to.

Cheers!

Sounds serious! I was chatting with some mates at work, and it sounds like a great world for a game, kinda like original Front Mission games.

Kinda tempts me to start coding a game like it!
Very inspiring that you put so much time and effort into it.

Good deal :) Sent the link over to Karl as well (he's AFK) and I'm sure he'll really dig this. I DLed the file but didn't get a moment to check it out until a bit later, it's even cooler than I had initially thought. I rather dig that you gave it a video game idle animation and that it was posed just as the illustration was. Also very impressed looking at the rotted views. You did the back somewhat closely to how I would have done it so fab work indeed. I'm probably going to mention this in either a blog post or DA journal, it's way too cool not to. I'll let you know when I do so.

Again fantastic work and our thanks for taking the time on your own to make this!

Haha, Yeh, I was a tad worried with his back. I'd like to go back to him and and some more animations eventually too. How do you imagine him in terms of agility?
Is he a slow moving unit, that feels quite heavy, or is he more agile? I'm guessing heavy, like metal gear rex cause of the gun.

Also, I have to curse you for giving me Karl's link, cause I've now seen something in his gallery I want to model...
